I learned today that asking the office manager to have the heating vent above me cleaned so that I can stop with the Great Death Rattle Cough of 2004 is apparently overstepping my bounds as an employee. The attitude this woman gave me! It was like I'd asked her to lick the bottom of my shoe or something. Fortunately, I have a kickass manager who fears the possible sick days in my future, and he brought down holy hell on the facilities department. Mwa ha.

Heh. Do you have an Occupational Health & Safety department? Because if things get bad, tell them and they'll make all kinds of noise if they're doing their jobs right.
