So I do most of my basic shopping at the Stop & Shop just down the road from my apartment. They, like every other grocery store on the planet these days, are putting in an organic food aisle. I knew this because when I went into the store last week there was one of those "please pardon our appearance yada yada yada" signs. Whatever. I have simple needs. As long as I can find the cheese and the Dew and the frozen food section, I'm good.
But.
I stopped in yesterday to pick up some ice cream because I've been nursing a sore throat and it's still kind of hurty and what better excuse is there to eat ice cream? So I walked in and there was a NEW sign. It was directing people where to find the things they had moved while they work on the new organic section.
And every single instance of the word 'aisle' was spelled 'isle'.
"Isle 3 - Cereal"
"Isle 4 - Canned goods"
I just stood and stared at it for the longest time, fighting the urge to find someone - anyone - and plead with them to fix it. I... just... what the....
Isle.
HOW CAN YOU LOOK AT THAT AND NOT KNOW THAT IT IS WRONG?!?!?!?!
I weep.
