When I saw a post from you about ROTK:EE, I couldn't click on the lj-cut fast enough to see what you have to say, ha! It's clear that you know the books very well and hold them dear. Thanks for such a detailed overview of the books vs. the movie.
And WORD, WORD, WORD to what you said about Eomer, Pippin, the final Saruman showdown, the white flower blooming, Denethor (I had to immediately rewind and watch again because my first response was "BOROMIR, SQUEEE"), just -gah- everything. As much as it was admittedly lame, I still enjoyed the Gimli-Legolas drinking game scene. It made me laugh and I think because it's perfect continuity of what it's been like with these two in the movies since Day 1. And Legolas is just such the elf with his "I think I feel a tingling in my fingertips" as Gimli fell over cross-eyed.
I think I finally see the appeal of Dominic Monaghan. God, yes, yes. I've started to see it a few months ago and it's becoming more and more evident with every interview I see or read with him. He's hilarious and heart-warming and DEAD SEXY OMG.
You know, if I ruled the world, I'd have Peter Jackson make 4 movies. LOTR, TTT, ROTK Pt. 1, and ROTK pt. 2 and have you be the consultant extraordinaire.
