Okay, I've been sitting here trying to come up with something even remotely coherent to say about the X-Files movie, and honestly, all I can do is...
X-Files!
*SQUEE!*
OMG!
...and the rest has to go under the cut, because I can't keep myself from squeeing about things that are spoilerific, so...
SKINNER!
Yes, yes. He was only in the last fifteen minutes, but you would not believe the amount of joy it brought me to see him. Well, you can probably imagine. And
caerwynx knows it first-hand, as she was sitting beside me, having some *squee* of her own. We clapped and there was much giddiness when that bald head appeared. I don't remember any of the dialogue in that scene except for: "I talked to some bigwig at the FBI." "Yes, that was Assistant Direct..." and the rest of it was just drowned out by *SQUEE*!
And the movie was really good. I tried to keep a level head about the whole thing this week and not get too excited, but I was still really looking forward to it and hoping hoping that it wouldn't suck and it totally didn't.
And there was Scully! And Mulder! And their amazing push/pull chemistry that is so much fun to watch. And just the way that they are together. I loved the scene where Mulder and the Feds show up to talk to Father Joe just after he's had his seizure and Scully's already there and when Mulder sees her, he does this whole-body jolt thing and then runs to her. Like, everything else is just forgotten for that moment because she's here and he doesn't know why and omgScully!
And the fishies!
And the pencils in the ceiling!
And Callum Keith Rennie!
And past cases! Luther Lee Boggs! Woot!
Oh, X-Files. You make me happy.
Oh! And! It was making me kind of crazy trying to figure out the actor who played the 2nd abductee, the one they saved. She looked so familiar, but she had almost no lines and I just couldn't place her, so I looked it up when I got home and it's Nicki Aycox. She was Meg in Supernatural and Brass' daughter Ellie (the first of the two actors that have played her) in CSI, and I think the first time I saw her was actually in an ep of X-Files. She was in Rush, which was the one where the teenagers found the spot in the woods that gave them super-speed powers.
On top of it all, I had lunch afterwards with
caerwynx and
dfwall02453 and their lovely girl! And that was most excellent.
I am full of squee.

Date: 2008-07-26 09:28 pm (UTC)I had extra squee later when I remembered that she had asked to speak to "somebody with some balls" - and that was the phone call that must have gotten her Skinner. Yeah, baby. You better believe it. :)
